📋 About Your Medication
Bliv offers both compounded GLP-1 medications prepared by licensed compounding pharmacies, and access to branded GLP-1 medications manufactured by Novo Nordisk (Ozempic®, Wegovy®) and Eli Lilly (Mounjaro®, Zepbound®). Your prescription will specify which type you have been prescribed. Compounded medications are not FDA-approved finished drug products, though they are prepared under federal standards by licensed pharmacies. Branded medications are FDA-approved. If you have questions about which medication you are receiving, please check your prescription label or contact your Bliv provider.
Your Vial Is Prescribed for Your Specific Dose
Every vial dispensed by our pharmacy is sized to match your prescribed dose and treatment cycle. The number of doses in your vial — and how many weeks it should last — is spelled out in your personalized dosing plan, which was emailed to you when your prescription was filled.
Your dosing plan is the definitive source for how long your vial should last. The information below explains how to think about it — not how to calculate it yourself.
Why the Vial Seems to Empty Faster Over Time
As your prescribed dose increases, each injection draws more medication from the vial. A vial that lasted many weeks at your starting dose will last fewer weeks once your dose has increased. This is expected and intentional — it is not a sign that something is wrong with your vial.
What If My Vial Looks Almost Empty?
GLP-1 medication is a dense liquid that can be difficult to see in a glass vial, especially at lower fill levels. Before assuming your vial is empty or under-filled:
Check your dosing plan to confirm how many doses remain
Try tilting the vial gently — medication may be pooled at the side or base
Draw slowly with the vial inverted to ensure you capture all available liquid
If after reviewing your dosing plan you genuinely believe your vial was under-filled or you received an empty vial, contact our support team immediately.
When to Think About Reordering
We recommend logging into your patient portal at app.joinbliv.com/login to initiate a reorder before your vial is empty — not after. Plan your reorder with enough lead time to account for prescription processing and shipping.
Storage and Beyond-Use Date
Once opened, your vial should be stored in the refrigerator and used within the timeframe specified on your prescription label or in your dosing plan. Using medication beyond the beyond-use date (BUD) is not recommended.
