⚠️ Important: About Your Medication
If you purchased the compounded GLP-1 medication, The medication you receive from Bliv is a compounded GLP-1 prepared by a licensed compounding pharmacy. It is not a branded manufacturer product. It is not Ozempic®, Wegovy®, Mounjaro®, or Zepbound® — which are brand-name medications manufactured by Novo Nordisk and Eli Lilly respectively. Compounded medications are not FDA-approved finished drug products, though they are prepared under federal standards by licensed pharmacies. If you have questions about this distinction, please speak with your Bliv provider.
Refrigerate Immediately Upon Arrival
When your shipment arrives, remove the vial from the outer packaging and place it in the refrigerator right away. Compounded GLP-1 medication must be kept refrigerated at all times when not in use.
The correct storage temperature is between 36°F and 46°F (2°C to 8°C) — a standard household refrigerator. Store the vial in the body of the refrigerator, not in the door, where temperatures fluctuate more. Keep it away from the freezer section and do not allow the vial to freeze.
Do Not Freeze Your Medication
Freezing will damage the medication and render it unsafe to use. If your vial has accidentally frozen, do not attempt to use it. Contact [email protected] to discuss your options.
Before Injecting
You can inject your medication straight from the refrigerator — there is no requirement to let it warm up first. If you prefer, you may leave it at room temperature for 15–30 minutes before injecting, which can make the injection more comfortable. Either approach is fine. Do not apply heat to warm the vial.
The Beyond-Use Date (BUD)
The BUD printed on your vial label is the date after which the medication should not be used, regardless of how much remains. This date is set by the compounding pharmacy based on the formulation and storage conditions.
If you are approaching your BUD and still have doses remaining, contact our support team or book a nurse call — your provider may be able to review your situation.
After Opening
Once you puncture the vial's rubber stopper for the first time, continue refrigerating it between uses. The BUD accounts for opened-vial conditions under proper refrigeration. Do not transfer the medication to another container.
Travel and Temporary Storage
If you need to travel with your medication, keep it in a insulated cooler with ice packs to maintain refrigerated temperature. Do not leave it in a hot car or checked luggage where temperatures are uncontrolled. For longer trips, consult your nurse or provider about timing your injections around your travel schedule.
